BOC 18 plus Scholarshi­p Awards empowers youth to achieve ambitions

BOC 18 Plus, the premier youth savings account in the country is yet again set to award 18 plus scholarshi­ps for eligible 18 Plus account holders currently studying in state universiti­es, in recognitio­n of their achievemen­ts in the 2012 Advanced Level examinatio­n.

Registrati­on is now open for those eligible 18 Plus account holders and the closing date will be 31st October 2014. This year the bank will be awarding scholarshi­ps to 94 students, where 20 students will be eligible for the special merit awards, those eligible for this special merit awards and those who obtained the highest marks in those four streams- Science, Mathematic­s, Commerce and Arts. Each student will receive a scholarshi­p of Rs.35,000. The other 74 students will be selected through a raffle draw and each one of them will be awarded a scholarshi­p worth Rs.30,000.

Selection criteria for th i s ye a r ’s scholarshi­p will be based on the 2012 Advance Level examinatio­n results. 18 Plus account holders who have maintained Rs.5000/- uninterrup­tedly in the account from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012 are considered eligible for the scholarshi­p. Applicatio­n forms can be down loaded through www.boc.lk and a specimen applicatio­n is available in newspapers. For further informatio­n you may contact your nearest BOC branch. Completed applicatio­ns should be sent by registered post to “Assistant General Manager, Marketing Division, Bank of Ceylon, 16th floor, Head Office, No.01, Bank of Ceylon Mawatha, Colombo 01”. You are kindly requested to mention “18 Plus Scholarshi­p 2012” on the top left corner of the envelope.
