ULTRATECH CEMENT SUPPORTS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY THROUGH TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE-SHARING SESSIONS
UltraTech Cement Lanka took initiative to develop and facilitate the flow of information in the construction industry through collaborative technical meetings, recently.
As part of a series of ongoing meetings, the company supported several programmes of prominent i nstitutes/ forums and provided exclusive insights and innovations from the cement industry as a fulcrum to assist in enhancing engineering expertise and raising the bar for best practices in the construction industry.
The programmes were held among professionals from industry bodies such as the Water Board’s Engineer’s Forum, Institute of Engineers of Sri Lanka and the Society of Structural Engineers in Kandy, Wadduwa and Colombo.
Aiding the programmes, UltraTech Cement Lanka General Manager Technical and Quality Assurance Sandeep Holey shared insights from the perspective of a cement industry professional while highlighting the trends in Sri Lanka’s cement and construction industry.
Industry professionals were presented with i nsights on t he nuances of t he cement industry with an emphasis on the significance of amplifying and leveraging these nuances according t o varying construction projects to ensure quality and permanence in the long run.
Holey also pointed out the correlation between the quality of concrete and the quality of cement while drawing attention to balancing variables such as workmanship and fluctuating external environments, with client specifications and designer and engineer requirements.
The other pertinent industry topics such as the age strength of concrete and understanding local cement specifications in context with global specifications and the evolving needs of the local industry were also discussed with the participants.
