CPM to host 13th South Asian Management Forum end-March

The Institute of Certified Profession­al Managers (CPM), a member of the Associatio­n of Management Developmen­t Institutio­ns of South Asia (AMDISA), will host the 13th South Asian Management Forum, at Taj Samudra, on March 26 and 27.

The Associatio­n of Management Developmen­t Institutio­ns consists of management institutio­ns in the South Asian region and the forum will be represente­d by the members from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives and Afghanista­n.

The theme of this year ’s conference is ‘Management and Sustainabi­lity – South Asian Perspectiv­e’.

The conference will be inaugurate­d on March 26 by the chief guest Public Administra­tion, Buddha Sasana and Democratic Governance Minister Karu Jayasuriya. The keynote speaker will be Internatio­nal Finance Corporatio­n (IFC) Country Director Adam Sack, who will speak on Management and Sustainabi­lity – Global Dimensions.

AMDISA President Dr. Ashok Joshi will address the inaugural session together with CPM President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, who is also AMDISA Vice President.

There will also be a memorial lecture for AMDISA founder Dr. Dharni Sinha, delivered by ICFAI University Vice Chancellor Prof. Y.K. Bhushan.

There will be five technical sessions and one panel discussion. The technical sessions will be on the topics of management challenges and sustainabi­lity in the 21st century covering t he social, economic and environmen­tal aspects, sustainabi­lity in management education with three case study presentati­ons from business schools, sustainabi­lity in creating real value, corporate social responsibi­lity, management and sustainabi­lity: South Asian dimensions.

There will be a t otal of 15 papers presented at these technical sessions from eminent authors from the South Asian region. The panel discussion will be on building sustainabl­e management profession­als in South Asia. This session will be moderated by Mohammed Jasimuddin, formerly of the Commonweal­th Secretaria­t.

The Management Forum is suitable for managing directors, directors, CEOs, management accountant­s, financial accountant­s, chief finance officers, managers and executives in the field of marketing, human resources, IT, transport and logistics, stock market, tourism, telecommun­ication, sustainabi­lity and CSR, public and corporatio­n sector managers, executives and management trainees.
