March 29, 2015 was a special date in the calendar of Elephant Reach Hotel Yala. Since its inception on March 29, 2006, the hotel has grown from strength to strength and has been setting the standards in world-class accommodation and service in the Yala region.

The Chairman of LHT Holdings, which is the holding company of Elephant Reach, Clement Fernando, stated, “It is indeed my honour and pride to be part of Elephant Reach Hotel as it crosses another important milestone.”

He further added, “We have taken proactive steps in being one with the environment, preserving its beauty, thus creating absolute harmony between the hotel and nature’s gift that surrounds it. As we surpass this amazing milestone, I vow that Elephant Reach will remain true to its core beliefs of delighting guests and ensuring they enjoy a holiday of a lifetime.” It must be remembered that Elephant Reach Hotel has kept its doors open, playing an integral part in Sri Lankan tourism during the times of the civil war in the country. Despite many hotels in the region closing down, Elephant Reach managed to stay true to its unprecedented reputation and continued to delight travellers, allowing them to enjoy a holiday like no other in the wilderness.

Elephant Reach Manager Eshan Mendis expressed his immense pleasure in being part of the amazing team at Elephant Reach. He also confirmed that the hotel is undergoing expansion work. “We are working on expanding the hotel to serve more guests by adding 20 more eco-friendly rooms.”

“We will also be adding a gymnasium and spa to give guests a complete, relaxing experience,” he said. Guests can expect a plethora of excursions, giving our guests a memorable opportunity to experience the best of nature Yala has to offer.

“We thrive on the interaction with our guests and we find joy in going the extra mile to create even more delightful moments. As we step into our ninth year, our commitment to pursue excellence will always be an integral part of everything we do,” Mendis further added.

The past couple of years have been very good for the country and Elephant Reach hotel with a steady increase in arrivals of guests from China and Europe. The hotel will be introducing a variety of services at the hotel to ensure we cater to these travellers and leave a lasting impression. Sales and Marketing Manager Dhiman Nonis said, “I’m proud that as we go into the hotel’s ninth year, Elephant Reach is undergoing a major facelift. Following the refurbishment and value additions, Elephant Reach will be a four-star Class Hotel.”

Celebrations of this joyous occasion were held on March 29 as the hotel continues to offer guests, both local and foreign, a holiday that they will cherish forever.
