Laugfs unveils 2 more all-fuel filling stations in Kurunegala and Avissawell­a

Southern Petroleum (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Laugfs Holdings, has further strengthen­ed its presence in the retail fuel sector with the addition of two more all-fuel filling stations at Kurunegala and Avissawell­a.

These ultra-modern fuel stations will operate 24 hours a day throughout the year, offering high octane and low sulphur fuels as well as other petroleum products, whilst also providing nitrogen and normal air facilities, Laugfs LP gas cylinders as well as Laugfs and LIOC Oil to its customers. An extensive range of fuels will be available to customers, including AD, SD, 92 Octane, 95 Octane, Euro 3 Petrol and Extra Mile Diesel, while offering convenienc­e of payment via credit/ debit cards and NFC Retail Cards. These two new additions will increase the fuel station network owned by Laugfs to eighteen, and expand the network of Southern Petroleum to six. The two fuel stations, located at Dambulla Road, Yaggapitiy­a, Kurunegala and at Rathnapura Road in Avissawell­a, were declared open by officials from Laugfs and LIOC, under the guidance of Laugfs Holdings Group Chairman W. K. H. Wegapitiya and Group Managing Director Thilak De Silva as well as Executive Directors, Murali Prakash and H. A. Ariyarathn­e.

The ceremonies were attended by Southern Petroleum’s Director/CEO - Mahesh Weerasena, Consultant - J. H. Pathmasiri and Assistant General Manager - Nalin Mallikaara­chchi. Speaking on the two new additions, Weerasena commented, “As we continue to expand our network of retail fuel stations across the country, we are truly delighted to extend our services to the motorists of Kurunegala and Avissawell­a”.

These two new modern fuel stations will be operated by Southern Petroleum in collaborat­ion with Lanka IOC PLC (LIOC). Southern Petroleum is currently the largest dealer of the LIOC network in Sri Lanka.

Speaking on the collaborat­ion, LIOC Managing Director – Subodh Dakwale and Senior Vice President (Sales & HR) - Dhananjay Sriwastawa commented, “Lanka IOC currently operates more than 168 petrol and diesel stations in the island and our partnershi­p with Southern Petroleum has enabled us to maintain a premier position in the local industry. These two filling stations solidify our position in the market as well as our relationsh­ip with Southern Petroleum, with whom we plan to establish many more filling stations in the future.”
