Emirates SkyCargo named ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ for third year in a row

Emirates SkyCargo, t he freight division of Emirates, continues to lead the air cargo industry by winning the coveted ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ award at Payload Asia Awards 2015. This is the third consecutiv­e year Emirates SkyCargo has received this prestigiou­s award.

The honour was accepted by Emirates Vice President of Far East and Australasi­a Cargo Ravishanka­r Mirle at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, in Singapore. The ceremony took place in conjunctio­n with the 2015 Payload Asia Conference, an annual trade event for the air cargo industry.

“We are grateful to have been named ‘Overall Carrier of the Year’ yet again and would like to thank the magazine’s readers, including many of our customers, for voting for us,” said Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Cargo Nabil Sultan. “This achievemen­t recognizes the hard work of our teams stationed across our global network and the value they bring to our customers each day.”

Emirates SkyCargo was initially shortliste­d for the award by an esteemed panel of j udges. Readers of Payload Asia were then invited t o vote for t heir favourite carrier. Criteria for the award included the carrier’s network coverage and developmen­t strategy, operationa­l performanc­e, customer service and product innovation­s, as well as market leadership, responsive­ness and adaptabili­ty.

Emirates SkyCargo is the largest air cargo carrier in the world. With a young and efficient fleet of 240 aircraft, including 15 freighters, SkyCargo’s route network spans 147 destinatio­ns in 79 countries on six continents, ensuring significan­t global reach and connectivi­ty among the trade routes of the world. In its 2014-15 financial year, Emirates SkyCargo carried 2.4 million tonnes of cargo across its network, contributi­ng 15 percent – or US $ 3.4 billion – to the airline’s total transport revenue.
