MAS Active Trading emerge League winners

MAS Active Trading emerged as “League” Winner in the 23rd Singer–MCA Premier League 2016, which has been concluded

MAS Active dethroned the defender, MAS Unichela by having a superior net–run-rate.

MAS Active and MAS Unichela, both unbeaten, finished with equal points, when the decider ended in a no-result.

MAS Active had a nett run rate of 4.29 against MAS Unichela’s 2.83.

Lasith Malinga, the new recruit at MAS Active came down like a ton of bricks to grab 6 for 36 in 8.1 overs, as the formidable MAS Unichela batting machine crumbled to 165 in 37.1 overs.

Unichela was rescued from total disaster by Chamara Silva (75 in 83 balls, inclusive of a six and 10 fours) and Lassana Perera (39), who put on 110 runs for the 07th wicket, after reeling at 52 for 6, bombarded by Lasith Malinga.

The battle of the giants which generated a lot of interest, but came a cropper. When MAS Active was batting, the game ended in the 16th over, as the heavens opened to abandon the match, the score reading 78 for 3, Angelo Perera (22) and Jehan Mubarak (05) at the wickets.
