Academy conducts 8-a-side tournament 2015

Fingara International Cricket Academy will conduct an Eight-A-Side Inter-House cricket Tournament to celebrate their 11th anniversary at Ananda Shastralaya grounds, Kotte on October 31 and November 1.
FICA which was inaugurated in 2004, today has nearly 100 students and four coaches. The three houses named after FICA Panthers, FICA Warriors and FICA Tigers will compete with each other is four age groups namely under-9, 13, 15 and 18.
Anchor Newdale of Fonterra Brands Lanka, the main sponsors of this event will continue to give their fullest support in celebrating the success of the young cricketers in showcasing their talents. Anchor Newdale mission is to provide dairy nutrition to kids through tasty products they love.
Batsman.com work as Official online scoring partner and Xtream youth as Official photographer will join hands to support the event. Preliminary Round and final Round of all the age group Matches will be eight overs per innings matches. The house with most number of points will be awarded the Majestic “Anchor Newdale/ FICA” Challenge Trophy and the runners-up will carry away the FICA Runners- up Challenge Trophy. Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Fielder will be awarded special trophies, medals, certificates and other valuable gifts. “Man of the Match” Awards will be awarded at all matches.
All 100 participating cricketers will be awarded a valid Certificate of participation and a smart Anchor Newdale branded ‘T’ Shirt, which shall be worn at matches. Senior boys of the school will play against the coaches while Parents also will be engaged in the inter-house contest among themselves. Fingara has produced national cricketers in the past and progress of developing young guns for the future. The event will be organised by the coaches and the Executive Committee of FICA. Mr. Roshan De Silva and Mr. Rochana Wijeyaratne of Fonterra Brands Lanka will be the honoured guests at the Awards Evening and few cricket stars will also attend the event and will give away the awards.
