The awards ceremony was also held at the event. The winners of the photograph­y awards were Senuri Seneviratn­e of Bishop’s College who won the Gold medal in the colour category and Manasa Perera of Nalanda College who won the Gold in the monochrome category.

The overall champion was Senuri Seneviratn­e of Bishop’s College. Speaking at the event, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith stated that he was delighted to see young students take the initiative to use their talents and support an important cause, through the Sri Lanka Cancer Society. Whilst lauding the youngsters’ commendabl­e work, he went on to add that we should all get together - irrespecti­ve of our age - in creating a better tomorrow for our society. In their welcome speech, Shanaya and Nayantara, thanked the Archbishop of Colombo, Rev. Sr. Alexandra and Mr. Susantha Rathnayake, Chairman John Keells for the confidence and support extended

‘Photocause and Friends’ was held amidst a distinguis­hed gathering at the National Art Gallery on the 31st of October 2015. The event commenced with Chief Guest Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and Guests of Honour being welcomed by Shanaya and Nayantara, the young siblings from St. Bridget’s Convent - the forces behind Photocause.
