Around 150 Co-operative Societies in Batticaloa defunct
Among the 500 registered Co-operative Unions, over 150 were defunct now, Assistant Commissioner of Co-operative Development, S. Kirubairajasingham said.
He said that they were not functioning now due to the lethargic attitude of the employees and also the poor customer service extended.
An awareness program was held yesterday in the Eravur North Co-operative Society auditorium about the laws in place, development and also the kind of service that should be provided to the public.
