DFCC Bank reaches out to healthcare institutio­ns in the North

DFCC Bank PLC recently assisted two healthcare institutio­ns in the Jaffna and Vavuniya regions, by providing them with essential equipment to cater to the needs of patients. The timing of this initiative coincided with the 60th anniversar­y celebratio­ns held in the region.

Led by the Regional Manager along with the Branch Managers of the Jaffna and Vavuniya branches, the Bank donated 30 wheelchair­s to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital which was an urgent need.

The Bank also donated 200 seats to be placed in the OPD patients waiting area at the Vavuniya General Hospital. These initiative­s enhance the quality of service provided and the service experience­s of needy patients during their visits.

Speaking on this, Lakshman Silva, Deputy CEO of DFCC Bank said, “Community developmen­t is an integral part of our core value system. We aim to be a model corporate citizen creating long term social value for the communitie­s in which we operate, and initiative­s such as these demonstrat­e our commitment.”

He further went on to say, “While our strategic CSR is focused on the areas of education, entreprene­urship, environmen­t and emergency relief, we feel it is important to keep to our promise of enabling growth and developmen­t in every area.”

The equipment was handed over to Dr. Sathiamoor­thy, Director of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital and Dr .K. Akilendira­n, Director General of the Vavuniya General Hospital.
