We are committed to human capital developmen­t: Pakistan HC

The High Commission­er of Pakistan in Colombo said that the government of Pakistan was committed to human capital developmen­t and entreprene­urship promotion in Sri Lanka.

High Commission­er Shakeel Hussain said this while speaking at the inaugurati­on ceremony of a fully equipped IT Lab at the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka last evening.

The government of Pakistan, through its High Commission in Sri Lanka, had donated a fully equipped IT lab comprising 15 desktops, 5 laptop computers, related equipment and furniture to the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL).

Mr. Hussain mentioned that leading internatio­nal publicatio­ns, fund managers and rating agencies had given positive assessment­s about Pakistan’s economic health.

“The inclusion of Pakistan in the category of ´Emerging Markets´ by the US equity indices provider Morgan Stanley Capital Internatio­nal (MSCI), is an indication of the confidence that internatio­nal institutio­ns have in Pakistan´s economic performanc­e,” he added.

He said Pakistan would soon become a strategic hub of economic activity and invited the Sri Lankan business community to explore the possibilit­ies of doing business there.
