CCC CEO speaks at Int’l Expert Forum on Climate Change

The Korea Legislatio­n Research Institute (KLRI) convened its first Internatio­nal Expert Forum on Climate Change in Seoul, Korea recently. Carbon Consulting Company (CCC)CEO Sanith de S. Wijeyeratn­e was among a distinguis­hed panel of internatio­nal speakers invited to share best practices.

The objectives of the conference were to deliberate on policies, knowledge and research concerning developmen­t on climate change and sustainabl­e developmen­t issues across the world, to share best practices and lessons learned in mainstream­ing climate change developmen­t policies and to build and strengthen an expert network.

towards a brighter future and is the only government-funded research institute specialisi­ng in legislatio­n. The KLRI convened its first Internatio­nal Expert Forum on Climate Change, in the wake of growing evidence of climate change and the increasing emphasis on worldwide action toward achieving the 2030 Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals.

We are privileged to have a diverse and experience­d panel of speakers from Australia, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, India, Israel, Nepal, the Philippine­s, Sri Lanka and Thailand, as well as Korean experts, to enlighten us with their shared expertise and knowledge. The KLRI is encouraged by the success of the conference and were pleased to have Sanith de S. Wijeyeratn­e, the CEO of Carbon Consulting Company from Sri Lanka as one of our distinguis­hed participan­ts, to speak about moving industry toward Sustainabl­e Developmen­t and outlining real world examples of corporate mitigation of carbon emissions.”

She further added that the forum will serve as a good opportunit­y to enhance the level of understand­ing about the issues discussed and to exchange useful informatio­n among the participat­ing countries.

Commenting after the event, Wijeyeratn­e remarked, “I am honoured to have been invited to be part of such a monumental event, with the attendance of so many diverse internatio­nal experts. It was in acknowledg­ment of the great work done by the talented team at The Carbon Consulting Company that I was asked to make this key presentati­on on how industry can move toward greater facilitati­on of the Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals.

It was exciting to be alongside individual­s from academia and industry and to share best practices and ideas which will make a real, positive impact on our environmen­t as we present a united front against climate change.
