St. Sebastian’s, Nalanda advance to final

St. Sebastian’s Moratuwa recorded a convincing first innings win over traditiona­l rivals Prince of Wales in the semi-final encounter of the under 15 division one cricket tournament which concluded at St. John’s College ground in Panadura yesterday to advance to the final.

The second day’s play saw St. Sebastian’s declaring on their overnight score of 310 for 9 and Prince of Wales was able to muster a score of only 155 runs.

In contrast the other semifinal of the same tournament between Nalanda and S. Thomas’ which ended at Darley Road yesterday saw Nalanda prevailing with a close first innings win. S. Thomas’ in reply to Nalanda’s score of 164, resuming from their overnight score of 124 for 8 fell short by four runs as they were bowled out for 160.
