Dilshan hits belligerent 144 for MAS Intimates Unichela
T.M. Dilshan in the wake of his retirement from National Cricket made his firm, MAS Intimates Unichela proud, as he took HNB to the cleaners, hitting a belligerent 144 in 132 balls, inclusive of 02 sixes & 20 fours, in the ongoing 24th Singer –MCA Premier League 2017, which got off to a start last Saturday.
HNB, who won the toss and put Unichela in, paid heavily to the tune of 388 for 9 in 50 Overs ; with Dilshan leading the way, Dhanushka Gunatillake (81 in 75 balls, inclusive of 04 sixes and 08 fours) and Kusal Janith Perera (64 in 38 balls, inclusive of 02 sixes & 08 fours ) hammered the bankers left right & centre.
HNB meekly surrendered – 222 for 9 in 50 overs, handing over Unichela a cake-walk 156 runs win.
MCA’S Premier League 2014 “Emerging Player” , the winner of the MCA Scholarship to the Darren Lehmann Coaching Academy in South Australia, came up with a notable all round performance (9.4 – 1- 27-4 & 38 runs), helped Commercial Credit & Finance PLC to gain a 04 wickets win over John Keells Group
In the tournament opener, DIMO, the new comer to the big league , created a huge upset when they beat the defending league winner, MAS Active Trading by 06 wickets.
On the same day, the other debutant, Textured Jersey, despite the swashbuckling century by Milinda Siriwardena (130 in 109 balls inclusive of 06 sixes & 08 fours) went down fighting to Sampath Bank by 04 wickets.
