‘Sahasak Nimavum’ national invention exhibition kicks off on Sept. 22
‘Sahasak Nimavum’, the national invention exhibition organised by the Sri Lanka Inventors’ Commission (SLIC), will be held on September 22, 23 and 24 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo.
The inaugural opening of the exhibition will take place on September 22 at 2:00 p.m. under the patronage of Science, Technology and Research Minister Susil Premajayantha.
Sahasak Nimavum is organised with the prime objective of fostering a favourable environment within the country for inventions and providing a unique opportunity to socialize inventions with commercial potential. The event will be held for the fifth time under the guidance and patronage of Premajayantha. Over 300 inventions under 14 fields such as information and communication technology, traditional knowledge, electronics, import substitutes and nanotechnology will be on display at the exhibition. The exhibition also consists of four categories: School, University, Open and Commercialized.
The SLIC is a statutory body which came into operation on August 1, 1987 by virtue of the powers vested in the Sri Lanka Inventors Incentives Act No 53 of 1979.
The inventions and innovations presented at the exhibition were provincially evaluated by a judge panel appointed by the SLIC.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
