Sri Lankan wins holiday for two in Dubai from Emirates

ASri Lankan digital advertisin­g specialist will soon be flying off to Dubai on a dream holiday with Emirates after participat­ing in a competitio­n conducted by the airline on Facebook.

“This is a dream come true,” said Kushan Sameera Wickramasi­nghe, Assistant Manager Brand Communicat­ion at Seven Media, a full service digital media agency in Colombo. “I have not been to Dubai before, and am excited at the prospect of experienci­ng the city as well as the service of Emirates.”

Sameera was presented with his prize of two return air tickets and an accommodat­ion package in Dubai by Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Conducted as part of a promotion of new Dubai stopover packages unveiled by Emirates in the market, the competitio­n invited participan­ts to tell Emirates in 35 words or less, why they want to visit Dubai.

Hundreds of Sri Lankans sent in a collection of eclectic responses, ranging from wanting to visit the Emirate in search of romance to experienci­ng some of the exciting new activities and attraction­s that Dubai has to offer.

Designed to give both transit and turnaround travellers who have a confirmed and paid for a reservatio­n with Emirates a great-value vacation in Dubai, Emirates’ new stopover packages start at just Rs 31,900 per person twin-sharing for four days at two-star properties and at Rs 42,000 at five-star hotels and apartments, and are valid for two adults. A total of 99 hotels, resorts and apartments offering a wide range of room types are participat­ing in the Dubai Stopover programme.

Unique to the Dubai Stopover package are 24-hour check-in and check-out at all participat­ing hotels and apartments, and a 72-hour cancellati­on policy – the entire package is 100% refundable, up to three days prior to arrival.
