Browns Agriculture introduces Massey Ferguson MF-1540 to wet zone farmers
Browns Agriculture introduced its newest innovation, Massey Ferguson MF-1540, to farmers in the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts recently, amidst a large gathering that comprised of distributor agents, existing and potential customers.
This new tractor’s distribution has been more focused to the farming community in the wet zone area and those farming on muddy terrain.
Built with trusted Japanese technology, the MF-1540, is a tractor specifically customised for wet application (to be used in muddy terrain). The unique features of the tractor are it’s a compact, lightweight machine, equipped with 4 wheel drive and synchro shuttle shift (easy back and forth loader work) mechanism. In addition, this machine has the lowest turning radius among all tractors. This is therefore ideal for working in small harvesting areas.
Commenting on this new product, Sanjaya Nissanka-deputy General Manager, Browns Agriculture said, “Massey-ferguson is a wellknown and trusted brand among Sri Lankan farmers and the agricultural sector, and is topof-mind as the best-in-class tractor available in the market today. One of the main reasons is due to the fact that we at Browns Agri, constantly strive to adapt to the changing needs of our clients. Introducing the new MF-1540 is one such example. This has contributed vastly to our success in the industry”.
“Unlike in the early years, farmers do not own large acres of farming land. Due to the rapid increase in population and development, farmers nowadays own and manage much smaller fields. Therefore a standard tractor would be too large or too heavy to maneuver; especially on wet and muddy terrain. Browns’ Massey Ferguson MF-1540, is the ideal solutions provider,” added Nissanka.
In addition to its unique versatility and user-friendly features, the MF-1540, is very economical on fuel and with a dealer network of over 120 sales points, customers are able to conveniently purchase the tractor and are privy to efficient after sales-services and readily available spare-parts and related equipment.
“We are proud to state that, Browns is the pioneer in introducing agro mechanisation to the Sri Lankan farming industry with the MF brand and we are the oldest Massey Ferguson dealers in South East Asia. Holding almost 60 percent market share in the agriculture industry, Browns Agriculture also markets brands such as TAFE, Sifang, Yanmar, Browns Crop Master, Howard, Fieldking, to name a few,” Sanjaya Nissanka added.
Browns is bridging the gap between corporate mobility and agricultural sustainability, whilst moving into the fundamental growth of the country’s largest contributor.
Agriculture is leading the path to a solution based package to the community through the provision of equipment services and knowledge transfer, which is facilitated through the various programmes it conducts and sponsors.
