Isipathana cruises to easy victory

Pathum Nissanka along with Kalana Perera, Heshan Fernando and Madushika Sandaruwan made match winning contributi­ons to guide Isipathana to an easy eight-wicket win over Sri Sumangala Panadura in their Under-19 cricket encounter concluded at the Colts Grounds yesterday.

Pathum who made the first double hundred of the ongoing schools cricket season slammed another fine knock of152 while Kalana hit a 79 helping Isipathana to end with a score of 296 in reply to the Sumangalia­ns score of 295.

Later, Madushika ran through the Sri Sumangala batting in their second innings with a five-wicket haul to bundle them out for a low score of 103.

Isipathana set 103 runs for victory were steered by an unbeaten 69 by Heshan enabling them to reach the target in just nine overs.
