A massive 175-run opening stand between centurion Anishka Perera (100) and Shalith Fernando (77) helped St. Peter’s come on top against Maris Stella on day in their U-19 cricket encounter played at Bambalapit­iya yesterday. In his swashbuckl­ing innings Perera hit 12 boundaries.

Batting first St. Peter’s declared at 290 for 5 and Maris Stella in reply ended the day on 94 for 3.
