BRITAIN JOINS BIGGEST EUROPEAN MILITARY BUILDUP SINCE COLD WAR

-

Britain is deploying troops, aircraft and armour in the biggest military buildup in Eastern Europe since the Cold War.

The deployment, which was first floated in the press by UK defence chiefs on Wednesday, appears to have been prepared well in advance.

It will see up to 800 armoured infantry troops deployed to Estonia and Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter jets deployed to Romania in what appears to be a reiteration of the strategy of containment employed against the Soviet Union during the Cold War rt.com reported.

On Wednesday, UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon struck a belligerent tone in the Wall Street Journal when he warned that Europe “is our continent” and, as such, would be defended. While he claimed the force would be “defensive in nature” he pledged it would be “fully combat-capable.”

Meanwhile Britain’s ‘Daily Mail’ reported it Britain is to deploying troops, tanks and jets to Estonia to deter Russian aggression while UK and Romanian forces will also join a US battalion in Poland.

The Daily Mail in its reports said Russia had unveiled its largest ever nuclear missile –Satan 2– which is capable of obliterating the UK, and added Yesterday, Russia reportedly launched an RS-18 ballistic missile, understood to be a test to see if it could defeat US defence systems.
