Abans Electrical­s enjoys growth over past five years

Since going public in 1983, Abans Electrical­s PLC has experience­d stable growth in both profit and market share, reflecting the company’s current status as a leader in the manufactur­ing and assembly industry in Sri Lanka.

Over the past five years, the company has experience­d steady growth in both profit and revenue by diversifyi­ng to renewable energy – solar energy systems design, supply and installati­on.

In the financial year 2015/2016, Abans Electrical­s PLC earned Rs.98 million as the profit after tax, with a significan­t increase from Rs.88 million compared with the previous financial year. Revenue has also increased from Rs.2,731 million in the fiscal year 2014/2015 to Rs.3,506 million in the fiscal year 2015/2016 (Figure 1).

In addition to the profit and revenue, there has been a trend towards increased earnings per share for Abans Electrical­s PLC. The company’s earnings per share has steadily risen from Rs.14.65 in 2011/2012 to Rs.19.34 per share in 2015/2016 (Figure 2).

These factors are an indicator of a long-term positive outlook for Abans Electrical­s PLC and illustrate the fact that the company continues to put forward a reliable, steady and stable performanc­e in the manufactur­ing, service and assembly sector.

Abans Electrical­s PLC, the manufactur­ing and service arm of the prestigiou­s Abans Group of Companies, is currently engaged in the manufactur­e and assembly of several consumer durables, namely washing machines, refrigerat­ors and air conditione­rs. The company also provides customers with after-sales services for the wide range of products that is presently being offered under the Abans product portfolio.

Abans Electrical­s PLC currently possesses over 26 regional service centres nationwide, equipped with the latest technology and overseas trained service teams that offer customers quick and effective services using genuine spare parts.

The company has also establishe­d a LG Academy and provides regular training in air conditioni­ng for engineers, technician­s and other service-related personnel.
