Dilhan steers Galle District to massive win

A quick fire 139 in 133 balls inclusive of 17 boundaries and a six by Dilhan Cooray and an unbeaten 84 by Eranga Ratnayake laid the foundation for Galle District to record a massive 218 run wins over Hambantota District in the Inter-district limited over encounter played at the Surrey Village ground in Maggona yesterday.

Dilhan associated in two fruitful partnerships first of 89 runs for the fourth wicket with Shalika Karunanayake and the other of 145 runs for the fifth wicket with Eranga Ratnayake to help Galle District batting amass a score of 354 for 5.

Hambantota District in their run chase was nowhere near the target as they folded up for a meagre 136. In the other matches that were played yesterday saw Moneragala District, Anuradhapura District, Trincomalee District and Kalutara District recording wins over Ratnapura District, Polonnaruwa District, Batticaloa District and Gampaha District respectively.
