Three wins for Port of Pool cueists
The second day’s proceedings of the Junior National Snooker Championship played at the Otters AC billiards table in Colombo saw Port of Pool (POP) cue club having a field day with three of their players recording wins.
The first to secure a win for POP was M. Nuski who had an easy passage against C.D. Munasinghe of Starlight while M.F. Kulaib and M.F. Mohamed had to work hard for their win.
The other three winners for the day were Hussain Ahiq A.A. Munes (AAC) and M.F.M. Thabish (Sea Endless) with the trio winning their game with ease.
Defending champion M.F.M. Fazil of 8BPP will begin his campaign defense today when he confronts his club mate M. Hakeem in a match scheduled to be played at 12.00 noon and beside this match five other games are down for decision.
The Billiards and Snooker Association of Sri Lanka (BSASL) who are the organizers of this tournament are conducting it with the greatest difficulty as they are running their affairs sans an administrative office.
The headquarters of the BSASL was situated at the Sugathadasa Hotel in Colombo and the tournaments were held there. But they were asked to vacate the premises a few months back being and were promised an office which has not materialized yet even though many requests have been made to the Minister of Sport.
