AIS open with massive 224-run win

Asian Internatio­nal School (AIS) registered a massive 224-run win over Colombo Internatio­nal School (CIS) in the opening fixture of the 16th Under 19 Internatio­nal Cricket tournament for the R.i.t.alles Challenge Trophy at Shalika grounds.

Taking first lease of the wicket, AIS with Canaan Perera (79 not out) and Harshana Yogendra (85) in ripping from with the bat, ran up a massive 277 for three wickets before closing their innings. CIS were never in the premises when they went in and were shot out for a paltry 53 to give AIS a 224-run win.

LIS RATNAPURA IN EXCITING WIN OVER GATEWAY, KANDY

Lyceum Internatio­nal School (LIS), Ratnapura posted an exciting three wicket win with one ball to spare over Gateway College, Kandy in their Under 19 Internatio­nal School cricket fixture for the R.i.t.alles Challenge Trophy at Shalika ground.taking first lease of the matting, Gateway, Kandy posted a respectabl­e 205 for five wickets.y.dihan (53) and N.DE Silva (42) did the bulk of the scoring. When LIS Ratnapura commenced their innings a solid opening stand of 138 runs between Muhammed Fahim (60) and Hirusha Jayasuriya (69) gave them a flying start.

However, they lost a couple of wickets but finally got home with three wickets and one ball to spare.
