Srilankan Global Contact Centre improves services for Chinese travelers

Srilankan Airlines enhanced its services for customers in China with the launch of a local directdial number for the airline’s customers throughout China recently, which will connect them directly with Mandarin-speaking customer service staff at its Global Contact Centre.

Customers within China can simply dial 0400 120 1979 and Mandarin-speaking agents will be available from 3.30 p.m.–10.30p.m.colombo time 365 days of the year, which will shortly be expanded to cover round the clock services within working days. Mandarin-speaking travelers outside China, can dial (+86) 400 120 1979 to speak to a Srilankan agent in Mandarin. Srilankan now provides local direct-dial services in a number of languages for customers to make inquiries regarding a wide range of services that include flight schedule queries; ticketing and reservatio­ns; and Flysmiles frequent flyer informatio­n. The Global Contact Centre’s main contact number (+94) 117771979, email and other contact details will remain the same as at present.

Srilankan has in recent times rapidly expanded its global route network throughout Asia and the Middle East, and currently serves 105 cities in 47 countries. As a member of the prestigiou­s oneworld alliance, Srilankan also offers its passengers connectivi­ty to over 1,000 cities in 160 countries that are served by itsoneworl­d partner airlines. China is one of the most rapidly growing travel markets into Sri Lanka, which is currently witnessing a boom in visitor arrivals. A total of 271,577 Chinese visited Sri Lanka in 2016, according to Sri Lanka Tourism Developmen­t Authority statistics, making China the second-largest country of origin with a 13 percent share, behind only India. Chinese arrivals have continued to grow by over 4 percent during the first five months of 2017, with 117,539 arrivals. Sri Lanka also receives significan­t numbers of Mandarin-speaking travelers from other countries in the Far East.
