KANRICH FINANCE EMERGES WINNER FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIV­E YEAR

FHA Sports Festival 2017

Kanrich Finance was crowned the Overall Winner of the recentlyco­ncluded Finance House Associatio­n (FHA) Sports Festival 2017, making it the second win-in a-row. The Kanrich Finance team successful­ly defended their 2016 FHA Sports Festival Winner title. Apart from its reputation as the fastest growing finance company in the country, Kanrich Finance is also setting new benchmarks in the field of mercantile sports, with its teams winning a cross-section of sports.

At the FHA Sports Festival, Kanrich Finance emerged Runners up in Netball with a score of 11-12 after offering stiff competitio­n to CDB. Captained by Gayashani Rathnasiri, the team consisted of Dasuni Nishani, Kaveesha Ekanayake, Yureshika Madhuwanth­i,vinuri Ranasinghe, Thushara Jayasekara, Sanduni Welikala and Janathri Channaward­ena. Vinuri Ranasinghe was selected Best Centre Court Player while Kaveesha Ekanayake was crowned Best Defender. Earlier, Kanrich Finance outclassed Siyapatha Finance 20-2.

The team was crowned Volleyball Champions at the sports festival after beating The Finance 2-0, Mercantile Leasing 2-0 and CDB Finance 2-0. The dynamic volleyball team was captained by Isuru Senevirath­ne and the line-up of champion players included Ishan Imarshana, Sameera Nishanga, Manil Rajakaruna, Randima Weerarathn­e, Chanaka Suranga, Suranga Ferdando and Charith Saranga. Establishi­ng their dominance further and retaining their 2016 title further, Kanrich Finance also triumphed in rugby, under the astute leadership of Captain Thivanka Bandara and his team of able players Rumesh Premathila­ke, Pathum Liyanage, Shehan Dias, Harsha Madhuranga, Janith Chathurang­a, Udesh Madhushank­a, Amith Madhushank­a and Sanjeewa Karadagoda. The team trumped LOLC and Mercantile Investment to reach the finals against CDB, where they repeated their winning streak. Further, the 100 Metres track event was won by Janith Chathurang­a, a top athlete from Kanrich Finance.

During the past year alone, Kanrich employees have surpassed records and set new benchmarks in mercantile sports. accolades in their sporting endeavours. The company actively recruits prominent sports-persons into its team to nurture a winning team spirit and to inculcate a culture of sportsmans­hip.

Apart from receiving encouragem­ent, support and funding from the company, the teams have been ably guided and mentored by some of the best coaches in the country, namely, Ajith Kuruppu (Basketball), Hyacinth Wijeyasing­he (Netball), Muthumudal­ige Pushpakuma­ra (Cricket - Former National player and Colts player), Dandika Weerasekar­a (Cricket), Channa Jayasekara (Volleyball) and Bandula Mallikarac­hchi (Rugby).
