Days are numbered for Rajapaksa family

Investigat­ions against a number of Rajapaksa family members on alleged crimes, embezzleme­nt and frauds are completed and stage is set to arrest them in the days to come, Cabinet Spokesman, Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said yesterday.

We have informatio­n that the ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed his close allies and trade unionists that they must stop at any cost the Hambantota Port Developmen­t Project, SAITM and Port City Project to prevent any inflow of Foreign Direct Investment­s to the country.

“If there was no FDI, the government will collapse. Therefore, we will have to disrupt the functionin­g of all these major projects,” Rajapaksa has reportedly said, Minister Senaratne added.

trade unionists regularly meet Basil Rajapaksa for advice and all strikes, protests and anti government rallies are politicall­y motivated sabotaging acts.

“But they are frightened. They know that their days are numbered. That is why the Rajapaksas keep sending feelers to President Sirisena and ministers through Buddhist monks to prevent their possible arrests in the near future,” Minister Senaratne pointed out and added therefore, the government was not ready to give any leverage to them to take a upper hand over the government.
