Musical event- Island first

The first place in the Island for Music was won by the students of Musical Section of Waharaka Maha Vidyalaya from the Ruwanwella Electorate from the Sabaragamuwa District. An appreciation ceremony for the students was held in the school in the presence of the Chief Minister Mahipala Herath of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

The Chief Minister said the students of Waharaka Maha Vidyalaya, which is in a remote area of the Ruwanwella electorate brought merit to the Sabaragamuwa Province as they defeated number of schools at the competition with minimum facilities.

Mr. Herath further said the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council will take steps to provide more facilities to the students who are studying music in Waharaka Maha Vidyalaya. Provincial Councillors Wathsala Janadari Padmasiri, Nihal Farooq were also present.
