Boteju, Aslam bow out of contention

Otter AC Open Snooker

Former National snooker champion Susantha Boteju (Sea Endless) and a former National snooker runner-up S. H. M. Aslam (MSC) were beaten in the pre quarter-finals of the Otter AC Open Snooker Tournament which continued at the Otter AC Billiards Table in Colombo yesterday.

Boteju lost to H. A. M. Rimzan (Army) and Aslam went down to M. M. Mubeen (Army) with the identical score of 1-2.

The others to advance to the quarter-finals were the reigning National and junior snooker champion M. Fazil (8BPP), S. S. Dinuruwan (Army), M. S. M. Rasheed (8BPP), M. F. M. Fahim (Sea Endless), M. Rikaz (BRC) and M. R. M. Reezan (Sea Endless).

The quarter-finals would be played over five frames today (28) commencing at 2.00 p.m. The semi-finals are scheduled to be played over seven frames and the final over nine frames. Quarter-final schedule:

M. Fazil (8BPP) vs S. S. Dinuruwan (Army). M. S. M. Rasheed (8BPP) vs M. F. M. Fahim (Sea Endless). M. Rikaz (BRC) vs H. A. M. Rimzan (Army). M. R. M. Reezan (Sea Endless) vs M. M. Mubeen (Army).
