SL squad reduced to 15

The National Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) yesterday brought down the Sri Lanka Youth Sevens Squad to 15 players in preparation for the Asian Sevens Tournament which will be held in Hong Kong next month.

The touring squad will consist of 12 players with three none touring stand byes. The outfit will be led by S. Thomas’ College Skipper, Naveen Henakankanmge.

Former Isipathana, Police SC and Kandy SC scrum half, Sudath Sampath will once again coach the team where they will defend the Asian Sevens title which they won last year under, Kevin Dixon. The final touring squad of 12 players will be named on July 30.
