RULE OF UNP AND SLFP BROUGHT THE COUNTRY TO RUINS : ANURA KUMARA DISSANAYAKE
Despite the various opinions expressed in the media and by politicians the Local Government elections would be held surely in next January, Leader of the JVP Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said addressing a meeting of the Matale District Diriya Purawesi Organisation.
He said that the JVP had launched a campaign to bring sympathisers of all political parties under the banner of the JVP at the Local Government elections. Rivals of the JVP have launched a false propaganda that we are having a secret pact with the UNP. It is they who have secret dealings...
“We are planning to bring all intellectuals, professionals, and trade unions under the JVP banner to bring about a revolutionary change in 2020.
“The people, at this crucial juncture, must realise that the 69-year rule of the UNP and the SLFP -since Independence-has brought country to ruins and burdened the people with more and more problems.
“Rivals of the JVP have launched a false propaganda that we are having a secret pact with the UNP. It is they who have secret dealings with the UNP. The JVP does not have anything to save President Maithripala Sirisena or Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
“However, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is having secret dealings with the President and the Prime Minister to save his family.
“Today more than 100,000 people have been affected by the dengue fever and about 300 have died. It is sad that the Cabinet Portfolio for health is held by a dental surgeon. I told the President not to fall prey to his dead ropes.
“Today Sri Lanka is in a precarious political situation. With this in view the JVP has formed the Diriya Purawesi Organisations that would be a forum for a thorough and open public debate.. The Prime Minister, who often grumbles about the burden of debt servicing, recently further burdened the people with a World Bank loan of US$ 1.1 billion,” Dissanayake said.
