Another Cabinet paper to disband the Economic anagement Committee

President Maithripala Sirisena has presented another Cabinet Paper to disband the Committee on Economic Management (CEM) headed by the Prime Minister, Government sources said.

Sources revealed that this Cabinet Paper was presented at the Cabinet meeting held. It is also proposed by the President to abolish the Disaster Management Committee as well and its functions are to be vested with the Cabinet. The President has pointed out the matters that arise could be discussed at length by a subcommittee appointed for this purpose.

A Cabinet Paper to disband the Committee on Economic Management was presented two weeks ago by the President and its tasks are to be vested with the National Economic Council, sources also revealed.
