COPE to sub­mit Uni re­port when Par­lia­ment re-con­venes

“COPE has com­pleted al­most all its in­ves­ti­ga­tions and pre­sented a num­ber of re­ports to the House al­ready and we have only to present the re­port on the in­ves­ti­ga­tions we car­ried out on uni­ver­si­ties. I hope to present it to Par­lia­ment on May 8 when it is re-con­vened,” he said.

Mean­while the MP said there was no rea­son to pro­rogue Par­lia­ment.

“May be the gov­ern­ment wants to get out of the po­lit­i­cal cri­sis it is en­gulfed in,” he said and added that com­mit­tees such as COPE and the Com­mit­tee on Pub­lic Ac­counts (COPA) would have to be re-ap­pointed when the House is re-con­venes. Pres­i­dent pro­rogued Par­lia­ment on April 12 to be re-con­vened on May 8.
