Returning to Colombo after New Year:
Special public transport services will be in place for the convenience of the public returning to Colombo following the Sinhala and Hindu New Year.
Sri Lanka Transport Board Deputy General Manager P. H. R. T. Chandrasiri said special bus services are being operational at regional level from Sunday (15) up to April 25 for the convenience of the passengers.
Meanwhile, according to the Fort Railway Control Room, special Fort bound train services have also been scheduled from Sunday (15) until today (17).
However, Private Bus Owners’ Association President Gemunu Wijeratne told the Daily Mirror that private bus service would not be completely restored until Wednesday (18).
Mr. Wijeratne said he hoped at least 50 per cent of private buses would be operational by tomorrow (17).
