HENANIGALA BLOS­SOMS WITH NEW YEAR FES­TIV­I­TIES

Res­i­dents in Henanigala, a re­mote vil­lage in the East, wore Sin­hala and Tamil New Year fes­tive garbs last Wed­nes­day in co­or­di­na­tion with the Army, ‘Wana Arana Foun­da­tion’ and mem­bers of the indige­nous com­mu­nity, the Aadi­vasi.

Army Com­man­der Lieu­tenant Gen­eral Ma­hesh Se­nanayake at­tended the ‘Bakmaha Ulela’ or­gan­ised under the guid­ance of Vedda Chief Uruwarige Wan­nila Aththo.

Ma­jor Gen­eral San­thusitha Panan­wala, Com­man­der Se­cu­rity Forces (East) re­ceived the Army Com­man­der and other in­vi­tees on ar­rival at the venue be­side the Henanigala tank bund.
