RDB Bank relocates Pujapitiya and Hatharaliyadda branches
RDB Bank has moved its Pujapitiya and Hatharaliyadda branches to new locations.
The new branch offices were declared open by the Chairman of the RDB Bank, Kasthuri Anuradhanayake, Attorney at Law, with the participation of RDB Bank’s General Manager / Chief Executive Officer T.A. Ariyapala and Working Director Piyantha Abeysinghe on the invitation of the Regional General Manager of the Central Province of RDB Bank D.M. Senarathna Bandara.
Speaking at the occasion, General Manager/ceo of the RDB Bank T.A. Ariyapala said that the rural folk are further burdened with debt through the informal finance companies that have mushroomed in this country at present providing Micro Finance services to the rural folk at higher interest rates and the rural folk is caught in their traps unable to free themselves pushing them further into poverty.
He emphasized that RDB as State bank, has introduced many financial facilities offered on special concessionary easy securities realizing the financial needs of the rural folk with the intention of getting them off the hook of these mushroom micro finance providers and invited them to join hands with the Regional Development Bank.
Chairman of the Bank, Kasthuri Anuradhanayake, Attorney-at-law, addressing those present said, the bank will take steps to make the people throughout the island with entrepreneurial skills as the main partners of country’s economy by providing them financial facilities under the ‘Enterprise Sri Lanka’ programme. He said that the RDB Bank has introduced many special loan schemes under concessionary interest rates focusing especially on small and medium entrepreneurs and also that the bank has introduced many financial facilities under concessionary interest rates covering all fields such as agriculture, fishery, animal husbandry, tourism and business, self employment etc.
Deputy General Manager – Credit C.L. Pihillanda, Assistant General Manager Central Province D.P. Dharmadasa, Kandy District Manager S.S. Dissanayake, Pujapitiya Branch Manageress Hemantha Heenkenda, Hatharaliyadda Branch Manager L.R.U.D. Rajapakse, President of the Ceylon Bank Employees Union of the Development Bank Branch Wimal Chandrasena, Secretary Janaka Ariyapala and the staff members of the RDB Bank were present at the occasion.
