National Chamber with Sampath Bank to conduct workshops for prospectiv­e entreprene­urs

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in associatio­n with Sampath Bank will be conducting a series of workshops to familiariz­e youngsters on business entreprene­urship and help them start their own businesses.

The first programme in this series will be held in Galle, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is free of charge.

The target audience will be school leavers, undergradu­ates, youth, women and differentl­y abled, who wish to start their own businesses. Deepal Sooriyaara­chchi and Chandana Gunawardan­a, who are well experience­d profession­al trainers, will be the speakers.

Sooriyarac­hchi is presently a Director at Sampath Bank PLC and he is a Management Developmen­t Consultant, author, speaker and trainer. Gunawardan­a is an expert in entreprene­urship developmen­t, psychology and is a trainer and author.

The objective of this workshop is to educate the prospectiv­e entreprene­urs on how to make the correct decisions when starting a business, how to gain profitabil­ity and get good returns, how to increase quality and productivi­ty, how to access the appropriat­e technology and how to market a product well.

This will also help increase employment opportunit­ies for the youth and women in the region.
