VIASL unveils new official logo
The official new logo of the Vehicle Importers’ Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) was unveiled to the public during the annual general meeting (AGM) held recently, at Hilton Colombo.
The new logo would be considered as the official logo of the VIASL.
The newly appointed committee had planned to abolish the monopoly when bidding for government tenders as the government was forced to buy vehicles at a higher rate from agents, reflecting wastage of public money. Hence, the VIASL requested the authorities to consider offering a ‘brand-new status’ for parallel importers who import brandnew vehicles, a detrimental qualification to pitch for government tenders.
All manufactures produce the highest quality models for their domestic consumers hence customers in Sri Lanka get a better value when purchasing a vehicle from a parallel importer as opposed to an agent with regards to quality, price as well as after sales service.
During the AGM the VIASL general membership elected their new panel of office bearers for the upcoming year 2018/2019.
Ranjan Peiris was re-elected as President to steer the VIASL for the year 2018/2019.
The VIASL was inaugurated in early 1980s and it comprises of most of the pioneer and leading vehicle importers in Sri Lanka. The main objective of forming this association by uniting all reliable vehicle importers is to supply a range of economical and quality motor vehicles to our valued Sri Lankan customers at an affordable price.
During the AGM, the office bears vowed to contribute their best to the progress of the association in the upcoming year as well and also to shape up the motor vehicle industry in order to establish a trouble-free environment for all the vehicle importers of Sri Lanka to carry out their businesses smoothly.
