John Keells wins award at Sri Lanka CSR Leadership Awards 2018
John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) was awarded for Community Development at the Sri Lanka CSR Leadership Awards 2018 held on July 19, 2018, at Taj Samudra, Colombo.
The CSR Leadership Awards recognise corporate entities and individuals that have made a significant and positive impact on the lives of people around them, through their involvement in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programmes that respect communities, the environment and people.
Speaking at the award ceremony, JKH CSR Operations Head and Assistant Vice President Carmeline Jayasuriya said: “We at John Keells are delighted and honoured to be recognised for our multiple and long-term community development initiatives within a framework of six focus areas - namely, education, health, livelihood development, environment, arts and culture and disaster relief. All our community engagements are driven by a culture of empowerment in keeping with the group’s CSR vision of ‘Empowering the Nation for Tomorrow’. We remain strongly committed to empowering our people and communities with the right mindsets, skills, capacities and opportunities which will help lead them to a better future.
