Maliban Biscuits win MSCA T/20 ‘A’ Division Final

Maliban Biscuits defeated Eskimo Fashion Knit Wear by six wickets to win the ‘A’ Division T/20 final conducted by the Mercantile Softball Cricket Associatio­n grounds at the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute, Ratmalana.

Batting first Eskimo Fashion Knit Wear were dismissed for 82 runs. Batting at number seven was Rasanga top scored for Eskimo Fashion with 20 runs while Tharindu bowled best for Maliban to bag three wickets for eleven runs.

Maliban in reply reached their target with six wickets in hand with Tharindu top scoring with an unbeaten 33 runs.

The winners received the Champions Trophy and Sixteen Replicas, while the runners-up also received a Trophy and Sixteen Replicas.

Present at the post Match awards ceremony, Rohan Wijesuriya, Human Resources Manager (Maliban Biscuits), Lester Hannibal, (General Secretary MSCA), Selva Mariyadasa­n (President MSCA) and Anil Hapugoda (Vice President Aitken Spence Travel).

The following players received special awards at the end of the match. Best Bowler of the Tournament - Suleka Ranasinghe (HNB Grameen). Best Batsman of the Tournament- Amila Prasad (Maliban Biscuits). Man Of The Final Tharindu Siriwardha­ne and series (Maliban Biscuits). Eskimo Fashion Knit Wear 82, in 18.3 overs (Rasanga 20, Jude 16, Tharindu 3/11, Amila 2/5 and Chathurang­a 3/23).
