‘Hashish’ seized from abandoned lorry

The suspects had left the lorry by the roadside and fled when a group of men gave chase

A group of young men who gave chase and obstructed a lorry transporting a stock of Hashish, handed it over to the Kilinochchi Police.

They said the speeding lorry aroused their suspicion and when they gave chase the individuals in the lorry threw away several parcels and sped away. They had subsequently left the lorry by the road side and fled.

Police said they seized the lorry and checked the parcels, they had found six kilos of Hashish in them and they initiated investigations to arrest the absconding suspects.
