Eagle Logistics completes 13 years in business
Supply chain logistics provider Eagle Logistics celebrated 13 years in business last week with religious activities at their head office in Colombo 03.
Eagle Logistics business was started in 2005 by Managing Director Asanga Weerackody and his co-partner CL Synergy with a 3 people operation at Elvitigala Mawatha. Today Eagle Logistics have expanded to over 130 people operation with 5 offices in Sri Lanka and branch office in Maldives as well.
Christine Jenifer DGM, one of the staff members who works for the company since its inception said, ‘Eagle Logistics is one of the companies in this industry which has helped more than 300 young people to start their carrier in logistics at the company and I am one of them. Further she said that the recruitment policy of the company is unique and that has helped the company to have a good culture which is one of the reasons why Eagle is improving day-by-day. Also company essences, a transparent and open form of communication by which the employee’s feel that what they have to say has value. This results in employees feeling that they belong in the organization. Work then becomes meaningful because the employees know that what they contribute affects the organization that they are affiliated with. While being active in the market Eagle Logistics realised that involving in supply chain management is important for a freight forwarder since logistics it is part of same. In 2011, Eagle Logistics became the first freight company to be a member of Institute of Supply and Materials Management in Sri Lanka. Further company has started its 4PL division 7 years ago which serves many multinational companies to improve their supply chain process. This is developed under the brand of e-visible.
Eagle Global Express (EGX) is the express arm of Eagle Logistics that started last year partnering with GLS. GLS is one of the biggest express companies in Europe handling more than 6 million parcels every year.
