Water’s Edge ready to host Sri Lanka’s largest Oktoberfes­t celebratio­n

Rooted in the grandeur of German culture and tradition, celebrated across the globe as a much-anticipate­d indulgence, the world’s largest annual Volksfest (people’s festival) – ‘Oktoberfes­t’ opens its doors in Sri Lanka at The Arcade Square, Colombo 07, by the Water’s Edge.

The event is set to take place on October 25th and 26th from 5:00p.m. onwards, and on the 27th and 28th from 3:00 p.m. onwards, at the Arcade Square, Colombo 07, and is expected to be the biggest party in Colombo, also housing the perks of being ‘bigger’ and ‘better’ with the new venue that is expected to cater to eight thousand participan­ts throughout the duration of the event.

Last year’s ‘Oktoberfes­t at the Edge’, despite being a monumental success, was the epitome of family-oriented gatherings with a true-to-theculture spirit. Water’s Edge will continue to carry this expressive style of dedication towards the perfection of an even better Oktoberfes­t this year, to give the best of the best to fanatics in Sri Lanka.

The venue of this much awaited event has been shifted this year to The Arcade Square, Colombo 07, offering further convenienc­e and ease for eager partakers amidst the suburbs of Colombo. Further promising to provide a worry-free experience at the new venue, the event will take place under the rain-proof marquee at The Arcade, ensuring a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience, regardless of the weather.

This landmark event will feature and endorse German culture through traditiona­l music, activities, cuisine and more. German Band Rundumadum, Infinity, Magic Box Mixup and Wildfire are some of the bands that are set to take the stage at Oktoberfes­t 2018, there will be a unique wine down session to the celebratio­ns on Sunday with Centigradz and Wings. In addition, the event will also present a divine German experience with authentic food and beverages, further complement­ing the traditiona­l theme.
