Trinity win Golden Star award in Group B
Trinity College Kandy won the Golden Star Award for the fourth consecutive year at the 18th Sri Lanka Schools Junior Hockey Carnival 2018 (Under-14 age category) which concluded at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla on October 31.
Competing in Group ‘B’ (boys) Trinity College remained unbeaten with four wins in their group fixtures: Trinity College beat Hindu College Matale: 1-0
Trinity College beat St. Benedict’s College, Colombo H. Fernando 1): 2-1
Trinity College beat S. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia: 3-0 Trinity College beat Uva College, Badulla: 1-0 40 boys teams across the island were divided in to eight groups and competed in the three-day junior hockey carnival conducted by the SLSHA. The three top teams in each group were awarded gold , silver and bronze medals.
Trinity College was coached by M.A.M. Ashrof.
ZAHIRA MATALE WIN GOLDEN STAR IN GROUP D
Competing in Group ‘D’ (boys) Zahira College, Matale led by Fizal Muzain remained unbeaten with three comprehensive wins in their group fixtures to clinch the Golden Star Award for the fourth consecutive year at the 18th Sri Lanka Schools Junior Hockey Carnival 2018 (Under-14 age category).
Their road to victory was as follows:
Zahira College, Matale beat Mahinda College, Galle: 1-0
Zahira College, Matale beat Dharmaraja College, Kandy: 2-0
Zahira College beat St. Thomas’ College, Matara: 2-0
Zahira were coached by J.M. Rifas.
