Continuing its efforts to increase Australian tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka, the KK Collection hosted a group of seven travel agents from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to Sri Lanka on a 7-day itinerary to Galle earlier this month staying at KK Collection’s boutique properties – Kahanda Kanda and KK Beach.

“Following our recent visits across three key cities in Australia to not just promote our own business but to also promote Sri Lanka as a destination, we decided to keep this momentum and let our valued partners experience the paradise’s luxury for themselves. Our strategy and focus is to further grow the opportunity of the interapac and oceania traveller to discover the potential of Sri Lanka’s unique mix of destination offerings, paired with history and culture” Stated Mario Stubbs, Director – KK Collection.

Jonica Paramor, Director of the Unique Travel Collection said “Australian’s are attracted to the diversity of travel experience Sri Lanka offers. From its coast to its tea plantations and unique history and culture, Sri Lanka is a unique destination to welltravelled Australian’s look for new and off-the-beaten track holiday experiences that allow them to fully immerse in local culture.”

Highlights of the 7-day itinerary included a visit to Galle Fort where they participated in a walking tour with a local guide and a bike ride through the rice fields from Kahanda Kanda to sister property KK Beach located on the coast of the Indian Ocean, all the while learning about Galle’s unique local culture and history. The group was also able to learn more about the region’s tea production with a visit to Handunugoda Tea Estate.

The visit was hosted by KK Collection to drive awareness and visitation to Galle by familiarising local agents with the diversity of experiences and rich local history and culture this region of Sri Lanka has to offer.
