GOTA’S TRAVEL BAN TEMPORARILY LIFTED
The Special High Court yesterday temporarily lifted the travel ban imposed on former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for one month from December 17 enabling his travel to the US.
The Special High Court at Bar yesterday made this order consequent to an application made in court by his counsel.
Mr. Rajapaksa made this application in court on a case filed against him and six others who were accused of misappropriating public funds to construct the D.A. Rajapaksa memorial and the museum at Weeraketiya.

L.A. Prasad Harshana de Silva, former manager B.U. Kamaladasa, S.K. Attygalla, S.K. Galappathy. M.D.M. Saliya and M.A. Mallika were also indicted with Mr. Rajapaksa at the HC Trial-at-bar under the Public Property Act and the Penal Code on charges of abusing public property.
The FCID after conducting investigation on the matter had reported to the Attorney General that the seven accused had conspired to commit breach with regard to Rs.48,563,929 belonging to the SLRDC.
