Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka yesterday said he gave a prior warning to those who were behind forming of the Yahapalana administration in January 2015 not to field President Maithripala Sirisena as their common candidate at the last Presidential election.

He said this at a seminar organized by Lawyers for Justice last evening.

“I warned that Mr Sirisena would become the leader of SLFP and hit the UNP prior to the next presidential election and my prediction had come true today” Fonseka said. The Sirisena Rajapaksa administration will not last long. “President Sirisena will sack Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa one day and appoint another,” he added.

Further he said a foreign country is behind the present crisis. “A foreign country is funding the government to win over MPS to its side”.
