I have no intention of quitting the UNP

Daily Mirror (Sri Lanka) - - NEWS - BY YOHAN PERERA

UNP MP Mayantha Dissanayake yesterday denied reports that he was planning to crossover to the UPFA shortly.

“I heard that my name is in a list of MPS who are planning to crossover and I am saddened about it. My father has been a longstanding UNPER who joined the party as a young man. I have also been in the party for some time and contested several elections on the UNP ticket. We will not betray our respect,” he said at a media briefing.

Mr. Dissanayake said this crisis should be resolved soon because the international community had begun showing a red light to Sri Lanka since the appointment of the new government.

He underscored the fact that the new government was appointed in an unconstitutional manner.
