Road obstructed as a result of earthslip

The Ella –Wellawaya Road had been obstructed by an earthslip that occurred near the Ella Devalaya last morning. Several trees that had fallen as a result and had come down the hill along with mounds of earth were also lying across the road further exacerbating the situation. Rawana-ella police said steps were being taken to open one lane for traffic until the obstructions were cleared. Police requested motorist and the public to be cautious when passing the endangered area or take alternative routes.
